BIRTHDAY CAKE MARTINI

Hello Lovely,

Happy birthday to me!!!! I cant believe that today I turn 29! I can’t believe this is my last year in my 20’s! It’s causing MAJOR anxiety! Where did the time go? Am I successful enough? Am I on the right track? Do I still look young? Is this why fat shows more quickly? Ugh! But celebrating my birthday is going to be really special this year. All of my classes this week have been canceled and mid-term break starts in two days. That means that in two days my butt is going to be on a plane to North Carolina for some much needed R&R. I officially reached burnout last week so I'm taking it easy this week. One of the ways I’m celebrating is with this cute little cocktail!

A HUGE thanks to Michael from Inspired By Charm for sharing this recipe! Also as a quick note, for at least the next month, I’m returning to a three day schedule with posts (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) to help me cope better with my demanding job. At this rate, I might need one of these every day!

HOW TO ADD SPRINKLES TO A GLASS:

To make sure your sprinkles hold on tight to the glass, rim it in honey. The honey also provides another layer of sweetness. Now, this cake-inspired martini only needs a candle.

After just one sip, there’s no doubt a celebration is happening.

Birthday or not, let’s shake one up!

BIRTHDAY CAKE MARTINI RECIPE:

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 ounces whipped vodka
1.5 ounces amaretto
1 ounce white chocolate liqueur
2 ounces half and half
Honey and sprinkles for garnish

Begin with two shallow dishes or plates. To one, add a teaspoon of honey. To the other, add the sprinkles. First, rim the edge of the martini glass in the honey, and then dip it in the sprinkles. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, amaretto, white chocolate liqueur, and half and half. Shake vigorously. Strain into your prepared martini glass.
