Letter From Olivia: Fall in Love February

Hello Lovely,

We have officially survived the first 31 days of 2016! That wasn’t so bad was it? I know, pats on the back for you! This month was great! My memory jar is super full because there are now at least 50 more of you who have started tuning into this blog, I finally found an exercise programme that worked for me and my budget (only $5 per class and all I have to do is dance) and I got back in the kitchen in a major way, trying new recipes for soups and bread! I made new friendships and partnerships, lost old friendships that were way too complicated anyway and got the best news ever! And this news is why I’m super excited for February!

Because now, we’re in one of the best months of the year! February is my birth month, which makes it extra special (because who’s really counting Valentine’s Day, anyway?) On top of all of that, I’m about to be super busy with my new internship, signalling the final stretch of my graduate studies and a December graduation! I have stressed, cried and prayed about this moment for over a year and it’s finally about to happen! So I’m celebrating in a big way this month! Here’s what I have in store for you guys this month.

·         Valentine’s Themed Recipes (desserts, appetizers, galore)

·         Free Printables (love coupons, cards, etc.)

·         My birthday celebration

·         Birthday photo shoot (not mine, someone else’s)

·         Quick and Easy DIY gifts to show someone you care

·         And…

Now that we’re in a new month, that means we’re adding a new book to the book club. Since February is a month of love and Black History Month, we’ll be reading the infamous book, The Skin I’m in by Sharon G. Flake. It depicts the story of seventh grader Maleeka Madison who has low self-esteem because of her dark skin colour. To make her life easier, Maleeka befriends the toughest girl in school. Only bullies force you to pay more than you’d like, so life for Maleeka just gets harder, until she learns to stand up for herself and love the skin she's in. Of course, I’ll be offering this book as a free PDF download for anyone who signs up, so sign up below! We get started next week Monday 8th February, 2016.

As much as I’d love to keep spilling the beans on this month’s content, you’ll just have to check back to see what else is in store!

What would you like to see on the blog this month?
